Theatre things that intrigue me

This post is mainly going to consist of things that I have found that really untrue me. The things I post will probably be short films, movie trailers, skits, and possibly some Theatre related pictures.

This link below is a short film that I found called "identity." I really think this film is beautiful and interesting!! There's very little talking but there is so many actions and expressions that it is easy to understand the meaning of it. I greatly recommend watching this short film.

Theatre update for Sept. 24, 2015

Today is Thursday (Sept. 24, 2015) and I have decided to give you all an update on my Theatre class.

Today we mainly went over costumes for our play "A Thousand Cranes." Our play is Japanese styled so went looking for costumes that looked very Asian like. All the costumes look great and everything is turning out very well! I really think that costumes help to get into character a lot better. When you wear a costumne it just feels more comfortable when acting like a different character that your probably not used to. I really love it!

However, we didn't go over any major blocking or work on the play today we will be getting on stage to work on sound effects and lighting next week. That's going to be fun, I'm really excited!!!

This is an assignment that I did this year (my sophomore year). I helped out some of my classmates and played the father for them.

This is and assignment that I had to do with a classmate of mind about the bombing of Hiroshima. I played a studen in a class room listening to her teacher talk about the bomb.

This is a musical that I took part in called Aida. I play ansamble parts such as a museum goer, a Nubian Woman, a soldier, and a slave. I helped sing in some of the musical numbers and dance as well. I also had one speaking part as a soldier during the wedding scene. I took part in this play my freshmen year.

This is my Theater classes play that we performed for okay fest though this was a rehearsal, I played the part of Oba-Chan the Grandmother.

This here is my schools Veterans day program. I was a narrator for a song that my schools chorus sang.

Theatre update for the past 2 weeks

Over the past two weeks we have been reviewing blocking and lines for a play we our performing for play fest. We have been working a great deal on our articulation and how we want to pronounce our words. One day last week (last Monday I believe) we did an activity with partners. In this activity we each recorded ourselves while we said some of our lines. After our partner recorded us we then listened to ourselves so we could hear what we had to work on. We were all looking for things such as rate, volume, articulation, and pronunciation. Some things that I have to work on is my rate or how fast I talk. Overall the past two weeks we have mainly been reviewing blocking and lines for our play. This has been very fun and time consuming but worth it. I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out!

Theatre Class weekly update

This week in Theatre class we have been going over the play that we have been working on called A Thousand Cranes. The play is about the bomb that happened in Hiroshima and to me is very beautifully written and is a major tear jerker. Besides just going over the play we had a small assignment to complete during class. The assignment was to write down the words that came to our minds when we thought about Hiroshima. From these words we then had to use some of them to write a short script and we had to act it out. I thought this was pretty interesting and everyone's scripts were amazing! All in all this week was really fun in Theatre class!
